Our leadership

Like most organizations, the leadership of Shadow Rock is implemented by several levels of governing boards, committees, teams, and staff members.  The common threads for all levels of leadership are passion and vision.  The specific leadership entities are:

  • The Church Board (governance and visioning)
  • The Executive Council (governance and setting board agenda)
  • All Team Council** (see below)
  • Church Staff (equipping and implementation)
  • Ministry Teams (mission and empowering ministry)
  • Administrative Teams (financial oversight, personnel, and pastoral relations)
  • The Congregation (governance, accountability, and sustaining mission)

Being a church with a congregational polity means that the most power for decision making resides in the people that make up the congregation.  The functions of the other entities include discerning the needs of the congregation, empowering individuals and groups for ministry, and articulating vision and forward momentum.

For specific information about our priorities and action steps for the next year, look to our Sustainability Plan (call the church office for a copy).

**The All Team Council is a new entity which will function from August 2009 through June 2010.  It is a leadership experiment.  The function of the All Team Council is to provide a vehicle by which Ministry Teams can collaborate, coordinate, and communicate with each other about their various ministries.  An anticipated side benefit will be to streamline the Church Board and enable the Board to focus on two to three priorities.
