Humane Borders

Humane Borders Logo - Click here for more detailsWorking through this established organization, Shadow Rock is responsible for maintaining five of the water stations in Southern Arizona. These stations, identified by a blue flag, provide life giving water to those caught in the treachery of the Arizona desert.

Chris Becker Dining Hall

The first Tuesday and the third Wednesday of each month Shadow Rock furnishes the food and serves the hungry and homeless.

Rebuilding Together

Refugee Relocation

Shadow Rock assists people relocating to Phoenix under the United States State Departments Refugee Program. In addition to financial support, assistance may include household furnishings, food and being available to help the family in whatever way as they rebuild their lives.

Volunteer Interfaith Caregivers Program (VICaP)

Joining with other congregations to partner in VICaP, members of Shadow Rock provide informal support services to homebound and/or disabled adults over the age of eighteen and to family caregivers. Click here for more details.

 

BorderLinks

Educational and hands-on experiences with this organization provide opportunities to learn more about our Mexican brothers and sisters and how we can assist each other. Working together we are able to address some of the challenges of living on the border. Click here for more details.

A number of special opportunities to share occur throughout the year: Blanket Drive for homeless shelters; youth canning project for a local food bank; Souper Bowl raises funds to alleviate hunger; Clothes Silo Youth Project refurbishing the facility as well as ongoing lending of medical equipment and donating eyeglasses, helping troubled travelers through the Airport Chaplaincy and meeting emergency needs through our Communion Offering and Pastors' Discretionary Fund. Shadow Rock also participates through the agencies of the United Church of Christ and One Great Hour of Sharing.
