Weddings

Marriage and Holy Unions are gifts from God, sealed by a sacred covenant, and extended to all.  Your wedding is a very special and sacred service. The awesome splendor of the mountain view from our sanctuary is a visual reminder of the grandeur of God's love for each of us. 

For your ease in management of details we provide a wedding package.  It includes use of the sanctuary for your rehearsal and wedding, a Shadow Rock minister to officiate and meet with you to plan the service, a wedding coordinator to keep things running smoothly, a concert pianist to provide your special music, a sound technician, and custodian. 

It is our pleasure to be part of one of the most special days in your life.  We share your joy and ask God's blessings upon your marriage or holy union.

Please note that as an expression of Shadow Rock's commitment to love, equality, and justice for everyone, the following statement will be read during the ceremony:

As long as there have been kings and prophets, there has been tension between government and religion.  This tension serves all of the people when each institution protects us from the abuses of the other.  Currently in our society there are people who love each other and exhibit the qualities of mutual care, respect, commitment and determination to build one life together, but they are denied by the State the benefits of legal status.  Today we celebrate the love between ____and _____ and their commitment to build a life together.  They acknowledge that they benefit from the legal recognition of the State and the spiritual blessing of the Church.  It is the hope of the congregation of Shadow Rock that all people will be extended the same benefits and blessings.  As we celebrate the love between _____and  _____ we celebrate the love between all people and the Source of Love that holds all of us.  Welcome and blessings on your celebration of the sacrament marriage.
